CHAMBER MUSIC
Across three seasons for Chamber Music New Zealand, I was part of a creative team developing evolving visual worlds that translated music, storytelling and the unique cultural context of Aotearoa.
The 2023 and 2024 seasons explored Va, the Sāmoan concept of relational space, visualised through ethereal 3D orbs, texture, colour and instruments. Working with 3D artist Andy Thomas, we created distinct worlds for each concert across season brochures, web and social.
For 2025, the creative direction shifted to explore the Māori creation story and the three stages of creativity: Te Kore, Te Pō and Te Ao Mārama. In collaboration with Johnson McKay, who composed a karakia for the season, we developed a visual language reflecting the awakening, growth and emergence of music into the world.
